Long weekend = tired back at work day.. lol.

Had a nice long weekend... Minus the sunburn I received on my back, neck and arms. I should have thought SUNSCREEN, being outside in +26c all day! But anyway, we worked outside on the front yard Friday, Saturday and Monday. Sunday I spent most of the day half asleep .. I think I got overheated Saturday. The front yard looks fantastic though. I planted so many pretty flowers, I am quite proud. I should have thought to take some before and after photos.. but I really don't want to remember what it looked like before.. it looked terrible! I promise to take some photos this week and update my past few ramblings with some photos.. lol.

Starting to feel a little better, yay!

Yay, I am finally starting to feel a little better. I am still sick.. but I don't feel like I'm going to die at least.. lol. I am off work as of 5pm today and am sooooo looking forward to this long weekend. It looks to be a beautiful one for once. Usually the May long weekend envolves alot of snow and rain.. But so far the sun is shinning and I am soooo wanting a +26C weekend so I don't have to wear a coat and be frozen. lol.
My Mom and I are planning to plant my front flower bed this weekend. I am pretty excited because this will be the first time planting things in my very own home!
Brad just got back from a few days visiting his Dad. I am happy to have him home.. but I have to admit it was nice and peaceful with just me and the cat. Ghost was happy anyway.. lol. He doesn't like Brad.. heehee.
But anyway, I had better get back to work. I have soooo much work to do before we can close for the weekend!!

Still sick

Geesh, I am still sick. I swear when I get something I have just a horrible time getting rid of it. Anyway, I spent most of the weekend resting. Brad and I did go out to a bead shop on Saturday.
I got some very cool beads at the bead shop that are soon to be turned into miniature lamps. After we had a yummy Donair lunch. We then went to a RC Hellicopter club and watched the guys fly, it was pretty cool.
Sunday we had an early morning and went to my brothers house, his g/f wanted to part with 2 sweet Bearded Dragons.. and since I have 3 already I thought, hey, whats 2 more... heehee. I have yet to get the HUGE tank they gave me with them set up. I need more bedding for it, which I'll grab on my way home from work.
Later Sunday we drove out to my parents for a Mothers Day feast. It was fun but I was not feeling all that well... but I still ate lots. My mom and I planted Sweet pea seeds, which will give lots of flowers in a few months time. My Dad was having fun filling the pond. We made the mistake of trying to put the new fish he had bought my Mom... but the water was too cold for them so we had to make a quick rescue. I'm happy to say all fishes are happy and swimming. We Albertans just can't wait for the snow to melt.... there is still ice is spots.. but my goodness ... a little green lawn, the hint of leaves. Everyone goes a little Crazy.
As for Crazy, I got my little 1/144 scale dollhouse kit. It is sooo cute and tiny.. I am a little worried about all the warnings on the package saying it can cause birth defects and cancer though...... it's a dollhouse.

Sick

So I'm at home sick today. I rarely take a day off sick, I will go to work hacking up a lung. But today I just felt so dizzy when I woke up I didn't think it was a good idea to be driving. So I am in bed and Brad has been looking after me.. Which is really nice. I am thinking about sewing but my arms and back hurt so I think I will continue to just rest. I really don't like missing work so I to get better!

Well, summer is over.. lol.

Yesterday it was +20c, I had customers calling to see if we fix air conditioning..lol. (you have to keep us cold weather people cool.. lol). Today it's snowing again! lol. Ah, we Canadians have to be born with a good sense of humor. I swear mother nature just likes to tease us. On a good note the snow is not amounting to anything yet.. yet.. lol.

So I have some good news! I found the fabric to finish my bear AND my pattern. Yay! I can't wait... it's been some time since I have been in the mini bear mood. I have so many tiny ideas!

But anyway, it's month end today so I need to get to work! Can't wait till the end of the day, we are going to pick up blinds for the living room! Yay!

Another Monday

Well it finally stopped snowing! yay! So now it's melting and hope it doesn't dump more winter on us till spring, summer and fall are over.. lol. (wishful thinking! ha!). Went to the mall with Kristina on Saturday and had a good time. I got a very cool display piece for my shows. I think it's a candle stand.. but it will work great for little bears! yay!
I also worked on 2 little bears on the weekend. I have both half done.. but am having a problem with one... I have his head....... and I can't find his patten and the rest of the fabric to finish the rest of him! ACK! So now I have this sweet little bear head and can't finish him. Usually I don't work like that. I cut all the pieces out... but this little fellow is about 1.5" tall and I didn't want to loose the pieces... oops... So that idea didn't work out so well! I'm sure once I spend some MORE time seaching I will find at least the fabric. I can always make a new pattern for the body. It's just frustrating when I actually get myself working and then something like that happens.
Sunday Brad and I went out with his rc helicopter and he got to fly it for about an hour.. with no crashes! yay! It was such a nice morning.
So it's back at work today and I just want to be sewing at home.
Well I had actually better get back to work, it's going to be a busy day I'm sure!

The snow is not stopping

Well the snow is not stopping.... and at the rate it's going we are going to have another foot! I am getting very tired of being cold and damp. Everytime I have to go outside at work the snow is up to my knees and even up to my waist in some areas.. and because it has not slowed for a minute they have not got the machines out to clear it yet.. lol. Brrr, go away winter!



I had to take a photo of my brothers corvette...... corvette, a small low to the ground sports car... that is now 7 feet tall in snow... lol. You can't even tell it's a car! This pic was taken yesteday and it's snowed all night... and it's still coming down!





So, I bought myself one more little present.. this will be the last one for quite awhile I'm sure. We received some bad news about Brads knees last week.. and it's now sinking in. I don't really feel like thinking about it right now.. Just happy Teddy Bear and Dollhouse things! :) :)
